Have fun writing with a journal jar!

Happy Monday Homeschool Chicks! I'm thrilled to share one of my most popular posts over at www.TeachingwithTLC.com with you today! It has been pinned so many times from my site that I think it could possibly be one of the top writing teaching tips on Pinterest. Yes, it's really that cool!

I am slightly hooked on making learning fun for children, and writing is one of those subjects that sometimes takes a little extra work to get children motivated. So a few years ago when I stumbled upon a Journal Jar on the web, I was completely in love with this idea at first sight!

What's a journal jar?
A journal jar is filled with simple, kid-friendly questions that turn journaling sessions into FUN!

CLICK HERE to print off over 100 colorful writing prompts for FREE. Next, cut, fold, and place them in a jar. Have your children pick a prompt each day. They can tape it on top of a page in a blank book or copy the questions and then write their responses. They can even add illustrations.
A journal jar is perfect for a daily writing activity, but I have used it the most during the summer months to keep my kiddos writing.

Another idea is to adapt the journal jar to spark great conversations. Have your children pick a topic, and go around the dinner table discussing it (or try to guess each other's answers to make it even more exciting).
